chin lifted upward, his nose almost seemed to wiggle a bit as he sniffed at the air... like some sort of wild animal but at the same time, not quite; he was calmer. much calmer.
"found'ja," madoka sang in an almost child-like manner, his set of pearly-whites more than visible as he glanced up to a certain door; the door of a flat that his prey object (and subject) of interest was most likely occupying, at this moment.
it had taken awhile but somehow, he's managed to locate the place she would return to at the end of the day; her home, or as madoka would call it, her 'cocoon.' and, of course, the answers to all of his questions regarding her previous work had got to be there. he deeply believed in it, so it's got to be true. wasn't that the starting point of any type of research? a living space was bound to absorb the aura of any being that dwelled within. actually anything in this world, inanimate object or not, had a spirit inside it. well, according to the twenty-three-year-old anyway.
... which would certainly explain what he chose to do before climbing the stairs. right hand moved over to lightly knock on the railing, while his left foot gently nudged at the first step. then, he began to skillfully skip over some of the steps as he proceeded on ascending to the second level of the apartment.
taking a glance at the door he soon arrived before, madoka quickly raised another hand to wave at the top of the door frame. the same hand lowered slightly to knock on different parts of the door, "ayu-chan~ ayu-chan," he sang through the grin on his face, "are you gonna come out and play today?" LAIKA OF GS! [i'm assuming that ayu lives in an apartment omg lemme know if it's wrong kk!]

cause they got the cages they got the boxes “ Ayu was awakened by a knock on her door. She was grateful for it; if she hadn't been woken up, she would have slept all through the night and that would have been unhealthy – she hadn't eaten dinner yet. She rolled off her couch, rubbing her eyes with one hand and straightening her clothes with the other. She certainly didn't look like a model in her tired, disheveled state, but the knock was probably just a neighbor asking for some soy sauce, so she didn't need to look particularly presentable. She opened the door, and was surprised to see a blonde stranger standing there. A new neighbor perhaps? She smiled cheerfully. "Are you new to the apartment complex? I'm Shibasaki Ayu, nice to meet you." Speaking had woken her up quite a bit, though her body still felt heavy, as if she wanted to fall asleep right there at her doorstep. "You look young," she continued, trying to discern at his eyes through his heavy bangs. "Are you starting high school here? Which one?"[ OOC ] TSUKUMO MADOKA sorry for the wait! and the shortness ugh cringe they are the hunters we are the foxes

the door was answered faster than he imagined... it certainly didn't seem like there was an ounce of caution in her what with the rush she appeared to be in and everything; all the better for him, of course. and maybe, she didn't hear what he was saying when he knocked. well, if she had asked whether he was new then, probably. and with his luck, it was possible that her landlord, too, mentioned something about a 'new neighbour.' either way, it was almost a little too easy.
one corner of his mouth curled up as his head tilted left; long bangs followed the motion but his eyes remained almost unseen. right hand lifted to briefly readjust the teeny crown atop his head, "ah, that's right! i live like, right over there somewhere," the blonde said, pointing over to the top of a tree that was peeked just slightly over the hallway of the second level, "your name sounds familiar," no kidding. "are you famous? you must be. it's not going to cost a limb or a gut to talk to you, is it? i'm running short at the moment to be honest." a soft laugh, "money's a bit tight right now. mom's in the hospital." as if.
"also, i'm a middle school freshman." madoka added, pointing at his own hair. the corners of his mouth curled up even further at this, "no high schooler would get this kind of a haircut. at least my sister never did. before she passed away, that is. she's dead. five years ago. it was a venusian looking for a mate. their baby ate its way out of her once it matured." he sighed, but soon shrugged his shoulders as though none of it even bothered him, "do you mind if i stand here and talk to you for awhile, by the way? dad won't be home till eight today and i lost the key. unless you have something else you must tend to? i'll go find someone else, if that's case. sorry to bother you, but the old people in parks and the high school kids in net cafes make me nervous." LAIKA OF GS! [omg madi plz it's nbd i'm just sry that madoka's kinda freaky-!? "orz]

cause they got the cages they got the boxes “ Ayu snorted. "Famous? Not at all. I'm just a writer."She frowned a bit as the boy started talking about his sister. He seemed a bit delusional – a Venusian? But she still felt sympathy for the boy standing in front of her – what he told her about her father felt all too familiar. She had experienced it too, growing up in a home that was empty since her mother and brother were always working. She was luckier than him though – she had two younger siblings that filed the rooms with their bubbling, childlike laughter. Until they grew up of course – but a family of five never seemed empty. "You can come in if you want," she invited, moving out of the doorway to let him in. "You didn't mention your name," she continued. "Is you mother at work? Give one of your parents a call – they might come home early and they'd want to know where you are. You should also make a copy of your apartment key. Isn't it hard to do your homework when you can't get into your home?"She paused for a second before she resumed talking. "I was just about to make myself dinner; you can join me if you're hungry." she invited. [ OOC ] TSUKUMO MADOKA omfg ayu's so clueless they are the hunters we are the foxes

inviting him inside... was that really a good idea? well, not for her, of course. but, that's nothing for him to worry about. nevermind that he rarely worried about anything to begin with.
"uh! eh! is that okay? oneesan?" he added, a giggly smile following the honourific; his entire face seemed to brighten up from that mere smile alone, "it's tomoya! and mom is-" wait, did she miss that earlier? he was pretty sure that he'd said... "she's in the hospital." bottom lip stuck outward just a little. maybe that's why she was letting him in so easily; she wasn't actually paying atention, was she? which could only mean one thing: something inside the apartment was preoccupying her before his arrival, and she couldn't wait to get back to it.
"hn," gaze dropped slightly as he finally followed the redhead into her home. he looked back up to her once more as he closed the door behind them. "i already called dad, though. he said he'll be as quick as possible," he said in a relatively small and rather obedient voice, "and i already finished most of my homework at school since i'm pretty smart. at least that's what the teachers always tell me."
as if he went to school enough even back then.
eyes remained focused on the red-haired woman. "what's for dinner?" he asked, "can i help?" not that he was actually that keen on doing so but, what else was he supposed to do? snoop around while she cooked? way too risque, when she could probably catch him any second. he'd likely find out a little more if he stuck around her instead. after all, she was the object of his interest, not her living environment. "are you a spice type of person or do you prefer traditional dishes? i like hamburgers."
stepping further into the house, the blonde skimmed his surroundings in a near robotic manner, even though he never turned his head, "do you think about your writing when you cook? or is it when you're on the toilet? what about when you're showering? does anything in your house inspire you? how does it all work for you?" a series of questions asked in a sudden monotonic tone, as though he was some sort of interviewer rather than a 'middle schooler' like he had previously proclaimed.
