Although the rain and wind were beginning to kick up, not everyone seemed to take heed of the media's warning. There were a few comments among her department, remarking on how 'these sorts of things' happened normally and, even if it were to be terrible enough to disturb their work, saving it held more priority to them than fleeing. Papers were scanned; fragile data was saved in various forms. The prototypes might be a loss, should trouble arise, but they were still doubtful. Nevertheless, there was plenty for them to do.

The woman calmly eating her bowl of ramen (purchased from the university cafeteria) and ignoring the clatter of the wind against the windows was one of them. She had already been warned several times, even by the cafeteria lady, but she followed the route of many others. Although, perhaps her mindset held a slightly different approach in comparison to her colleagues. She saw no point in leaving only to end up stranded some place with little to no supplies if a tsunami arrived.

Hasegawa paused, dabbing her lips with a handkerchief before turning her attention to the only other person sitting in the cafeteria. "You're still here." She stated. While there was no hint of an inflection in her tone, the fact she pointed it out was her own version of surprise.
