| the coals are beginning to glow when it's all said and done, we'll shine like the sun
The model swallowed not wanting to respond with food in his mouth when Hide sat down. “I never said you were unattractive. Only that I don’t want to see you naked.” He took another bit munching quietly as he thought of a way to explain himself to the man. Yes he did often have to undress for the photo shoots he did and yes, he did often times see other people naked but that didn’t make it enjoyable. Work was different to daily life. Not to mention he didn’t feel comfortable enough with Hide to let him strip before him.
“I care because I don’t know you.” He countered eyeing Hide for a moment. “Besides, since when is it acceptable for employees to undress in front of their employers?” Emir added taking a sip of his drink. It was weird to him! There was something almost Twilight Zone-y about treating a guy that had tried to kill him so amicably. There was only so much of the black he could handle before he had to draw the line. Any other day and he probably wouldn’t have looked twice. He didn’t say anymore letting his new body guard enjoy his meal.
Emir almost bit his tongue at the apology before holding back a snort. Most people would’ve been appalled to receive such an apology. “Sorry I shoved my tiramisu in your face.” He replied before continuing to eat his meal. Hopefully the burgers would make up for it. The spicy had been a nice touch. Didn’t taste like he’d gone overboard.

Whoaa. Was that a compliment? Hide had looked over at Emir for a moment, a brow lifted in a bit of shock. He couldn't tell if he was being serious or not, but it probably meant nothing and wasn't what Hide thought it was. Models were conceited, vain. While Emir wasn't as awful as he would have imagined a model to be he was certainly sensitive about his looks. Enough to cry.
He wasn't going to forget, ever.
Hide's work was somewhat similar to Emir's, the one he got paid for that didn't involve hurting people that is. However, in comparison he was probably considered more of a prostitute than something of a more respected profession. He didn't really care what people thought of him though. He had fun, and the free drinks and electric parties were just a bonus. Hideo wasn't meant to have an ordinary job, with ordinary work to be done.
Hide snapped his gaze to Emir at the tiramisu reference. That's what that was. It was even fancier a desert than he'd thought. When he was done chewing he spoke. "Let's get something clear first. You might be paying me, but you're not my fuckin boss. I'M my boss, got it?" He wasn't about to be some petty servant to this, otherwise far wealthier than him, man.
"Wasting food is a crime. That whatever it was would have been damn good if you hadn't thrown it away." Hide eased up, but his hurt for the poor cake was noted. He was a simple creature, and food was one of his favorite things. Anyway, he wasn't about to try and say that weird word 'tiramisu' only to embarrass himself. Hideo went back to eating, sulking just enough for it to be noticeable. The burgers were still pretty damn good though.

| the coals are beginning to glow when it's all said and done, we'll shine like the sun
The pinkette continued eating only attempting a smirk when he noticed Hide’s surprise. He wondered what kind of opinion the guy had of him to be honest. Practically everything he said earned him a double take from the man. At least it offered him a little amusement, he thought. While he ate, Emir drifted off into his thoughts planning tomorrow’s day or at least trying to remember what he was skipping out on. No emails meant no work tomorrow, thank god. And he supposed all he had was art studio, which he could easily skip.
What else? Bread run? Eh, he could that off for the day after. “Whatever.” Emir said with a roll of his eyes. He didn’t care too much what the man really said so long as he did his job. To not kill him or get him killed. He certainly had the attitude for one. He offered the black a small smile before repeating himself, “Ti. Ra. Mi. Su.” After enunciating each syllable he continued, “One could say the say about assault and battery, as well as stalking and breaking and entering.” He snickered noticing that the man was clearly put out over having the cake smooshed in his face. He really was serious about the food thing.
Maybe he was just always hungry? Emir didn’t voice this noting it was none of his business and he wouldn’t want to offend the stranger. Not because of retaliation but more so because he didn’t want to ruin the calm atmosphere the pair had entered during dinner. “Don’t pout so much it’s unbecoming. If you really feel that much of a loss we can just go to the place and get some more.” Emir added with a scoff looking back at his half eaten burger. He began to bite down faster, not wanting to take so long with his dinner. He needed a rinse and then he could clock out. Besides if he kept taking so long his food would get cold.

He couldn't help that he was thrown off by some of the things Emir said. Hide didn't exactly associate with people much wealthier than himself, which was poor obviously, dirt poor. His only connection, or friend rather, that wasn't completely in the gutter was Katsuro. Though Hide didn't think cops counted, even his friend.
He'd lifted a brow again, surprised once more by what Emir said about getting more cake. "You'd seriously by more?" He was interested, and quite serious yes. It wasn't as if growing up he'd never eaten. He had people that took care of him to make sure he did even though his father was always at work. Though once he moved out Hide essentially maintained a poor status and thus his main diet was ramen, fast food, and more ramen. On those rare occasions at work he'd get treated by his guests or the bars he helped host at, but that took bribing, and sometimes he wasn't readily in the mood to sell himself out for a cooked meal.
"You really have it made here huh?" Hide scoffed, but in a lighthearted way. "I don't pout, by the way. And you should feel assured, I didn't 'break' anything. I came in quietly." His skills were guaranteed at least. He wasn't an idiot, and knew better to cause a ruckus before trying to fuck up Emir. Admittedly he was glad this worked out in his benefit. Daily money was better than the dry spell he'd been having in comparison.
"You threatening to turn me into the police?" He inquired, before taking another large bite.

| the coals are beginning to glow when it's all said and done, we'll shine like the sun
Emir set down his burger, reaching over to grab his soda before leaning back in his chair and away from the burger. He’d finish it tomorrow for lunch. There wasn’t much left anyway. Maybe a salad and some fries would be good too. Mmm, but did he have any left? He hadn’t checked the freezer tonight. Well whatever. Kale and spinach would be a nice addition. The pinkette took a few swigs of his soda feeling refreshed by the drink. “Of course I’d buy more. I bought it in the first place because I was gonna eat it tomorrow after class.” The man replied shaking his head at Hide. Honestly, they slice itself hadn’t been a huge expense compared to all the other food he’d inhaled at dinner.
“Tiramisu isn’t too sweet. It’s a more subtle tasting dessert.” The pinkette added in case Hide was curious. Just his confusion at the name was enough to hint he’d probably never had any. That was alright, Emir would be happy to share the delight that Italian style desserts were. He offered a small grin at Hide nodding in reply. The pinkette had a pretty sweet deal, living alone and being supported y his pretty looks alone. The dream job for many. Not to mention if he ever was in need there was always a pair f supportive parents o his side to help him out, not that he ever really counted that. He preferred doing well by himself. The thought of crawling back to his parents after moving out so long ago gave him the creeps. “Of course not. I’m imagining things.” Emir said dismissively, with a snicker or two at the other’s expense.
“Quietly?” the model echoed before taking another ship of his coke. “I guess that’s why you charged so much.” Emir shrugged, grateful he didn’t have another mess waiting for him tonight. He leaned forward, resting his chin in his palm and watching Hide continue to eat. “No. Why would I do that to someone whose been taking such good care of me?” he asked, holding back another laugh. It wasn’t true. He’d been patched up by Hide and had also gotten him to clean up after himself. Not to mention the god advice which was rare for him to hear. Emir could go days without hearing something friendly but that was life right? He didn’t really pay any mind, forgetting his annoyances once he began working or eating. He was pretty carefree for his age.

Subtle. For some reason those words were ironic when he'd had it smashed in his face not too long ago. Hide didn't believe he'd get any if Emir bought more, so he didn't bother to ask. He wasn't going to make himself look desperate over a desert...even if it had tasted good, just that small amount that had got in his mouth.
Pushing Emir's utter pleasure with himself aside, Hide wondered how a person like him was brought up to be able to afford all this stuff. Besides his job, were his parents still alive to help? At that Hideo dismissed his own inquiries on the matter quite quickly. He didn't want to know. He had a tendency to compare himself with others, deep DEEP down in that thick skull of his.
It was a bad habit since childhood, and it never failed to make him feel like shit.
He ate fast, partly because he was starving, and also because this was a pretty damn good burger. He didn't want to inflate Emir's ego, since it was already pretty big from what he'd seen so far, but Hide was surprised that he could cook anything let alone something like this. Weren't models all about being thin and maintaining their figure? Was today Emir's binge day? Was he not going to eat the rest of the week? The thought made Hide's stomach twist as if to say he were on empty, but after the first burger he was at least a third full.
He dusted his hands off in front of his plate before he leaned back in his chair and stared at Emir across from him. Folding his arms across his chest loosely he shook his head at the man's last words. He never thought he'd ever be in charge of taking care of someone, at least not anyone aside from his sister.
"That's not what your face is telling me. I could have asked for more." Hide grumbled, gesturing to the man's cheek. He had to take a jab after a comment like that. He wasn't as much of an asshole as some people assumed, but he didn't want Emir to think that he was soft. If the pink haired man decided to drop their deal and actually turn him into the police on assault charge and attempt of murder, with a long other list of charges, he could get put away for a really long time. It wouldn't be the first time his freedom was threatened, but that was precisely why he was staying on his toes.
"You eat pretty unhealthy for a model. I figured types like you wouldn't be interested in things like desert, beer, or burgers for that matter. Shouldn't you be more concerned for you..figure?" It was weird, saying that out loud, to a guy. Male modelling seemed like an uncomfortable job to him. Hide would hate it for sure. He didn't like being told what to do, and posing in unnatural positions seemed awkward and torturous.

Once Hide had finished he gestured over at the remaining burgers and buns. “Help yourself to more if you want.” He stated swirling around whatever bit of soda was left in his can before drinking it. He then downed the rest in one go before setting the empty can down on the table. The model didn’t need praise fr his food. Seeing how quickly the man gorged himself on the first burger was enough praise. There was also the possibility that maybe he was just hungry and would eat just about anything, but Emir would take it as praise.
The pinkette then offered a perky smile at the black. “Too late. Deal’s set, already made my budget.” He said in an almost sing song voice. Of course, he really hoped Hide didn’t try to charge him more. He was technically at the man’s mercy yet again. Still, there was hope Hide wouldn’t. Not after a shower and a hot meal. The other man seemed generally more at ease in his new environment. IT hadn’t taken him too long to adjust unlike Emir. He’d simply switched off and the pinkette was no longer ‘target’. The model wished he could switch his feelings like that, still feeling a tad uncomfortable even as he teased and joked with the guy. He supposed that was just an instinct of self-preservation kicking in.
He hesitated before answering. Hide had a point. Models had a terrible chance of developing eating disorders and such. The industry was hard to live in and some were just desperate to stay, not having anywhere else to go. “Well yes, I do worry about my figure but not to the extent a co-worker would.” He began frowning slightly. “I just work out a lot to counter act what I eat, and I eat a good diet. Most of the time.” He coughed clearing his throat. He had strayed a little bit from his routine but he figured he would pay for it the next morning run he had. “You saw me shirtless, I’m fine as hell.” The pinkette added grinning proudly. He could do laundry on his abs and he would, verbally, fight anyone that said otherwise.
“In our workplace if you want to stay thing you either work out or do drugs.” He explained waving his hand. “But working out keeps me looking younger and lengthens my life span so I prefer that. And there’s always other jobs if I stop modeling but why would I?” he continued with a small laugh. “Am I blowing your mind yet, Hideo?”

Man was he disappointed in himself. Emir seemed pleased enough that he'd gotten away with not being forced to pay him more money for his services, alas, he could deal with the amount he'd be given anyway. Hide wasn't greedy enough to not appreciate the food, or that he was going to get paid, period, and having his freedom was quite nice.
He listened to Emir talk as he got up to fix himself another burger. Bottomless pit this one was. The good diet bit made him lift his eyes. Hideo just had to stare at the coke in front of Emir to make a point before a sly grin formed in his features and he began to eat again. He didn't know when soda became healthy, but if Emir wanted to drink sugar fine by him. Hideo didn't have the best diet either, but he wasn't the model here.
When he had a moment to pause between bites, he replied with, "Average." Teasing the man about his figure. At least to him it was average. Sure he had muscles, but so did Hide, nothing extraordinary about that. This was why he didn't get modeling, especially male modeling. At least woman generally came in more versatile 'shapes'. However, he'd be lying if he said he didn't find Emir even somewhat attractive.
As the conversation switched to their 'methods' of losing weight Hide lifted his eyes to the pink haired man. Drugs he hadn't expected to hear, but once it was mentioned and he thought about it, he supposed it made a little sense. It was close to having some sort of eating disorder, and with people who were easily pressured to make their bodies look a certain way he wouldn't be surprised if some went to extremes. Had Emir ever though, was the real question.
He claimed not to, but Hide was uncertain for now. He hadn't seen any telling signs yet, but he would know eventually if the man was speaking the truth. He scoffed at the man, setting his half eaten burger down for a moment to stretch out his arms. "Yea, I'm completely blown away. You're job sounds more boring than I thought." He smirked, "If you weren't a model, what are these other jobs you'd do?" Emir was dense, at least in terms of his street smarts. Hide wondered if he went to school. The pampered baby that attended some sort of art school, and worked as a model. Did he have the ideal life or what?

| the coals are beginning to glow when it's all said and done, we'll shine like the sun
The pinkette looked over at Hide, the taunt although small actually stung a little. Especially after having risked his features beforehand. His face said it all, lips pursed into a thing line and eyebrows furrowed together. Slightly offended, but unwilling to say anything else. It could be worse. IT COULD BE WORSE. He repeated this in his head as he touched his colored cheeks once more. Emir’s ego was entirely dependent on his ability to shit talk, and his looks. He didn’t really have any talents beyond that. “I’ll take it.” The pinkette declared, eyes on his hands as he twiddled his thumbs.
He didn’t like thinking about what his life would be like after modeling. He didn’t really have any passions other than lounging around on the beach or kicking a ball around. If only he could marry rich. That would solve all his problems. Rich people married models right? He just had to keep his eyes open. Sometimes he wished he had some other knack. He wasn’t sure if numbers was his thing. What did managers even do? He was about to finish school and he still only had a vague idea what his degree would offer except a guaranteed job. At least, that’s how it had sounded back in junior year of college when he was forced to declare a major. Emir lifted his head, locking eyes with the man and bristling. “Boring?!” he echoed indignantly. “The after parties sure aren’t BORING.” He stated. “I don’t pay for anything ‘cept cab fare some nights!” he continued looking down at his thumbs again. Actually he wasn’t making his job sound any better.
It could get bring sometimes but that’s why he, well drank for one but also, made friends in his industry. Or at least tried to. He as on good terms with a handful of models in his area anyway. He couldn’t help but flinch at the question. What would he be? The model quite enjoyed the easy life, and a business degree guaranteed him none of that. All it guaranteed as a 9-5 job and if he was lucky, a weeklong vacation A YEAR. Emir rather liked his summer terms off. He’d been enjoying them for a good 24 year now. “A-An…accountant?” Emir replied, his eyes firmly planted on avoiding Hide’s. The response had sounded more like a question. “I dunno..I guess a middle manager in some company?” he continued, his voice low and tinted with shame. He honestly didn’t know. IF modeling hadn’t worked out the minute he’d finished school he wouldv’e probably asked his parents for advice in getting a job.
“But whatever. What exactly would you do if you weren’t a body guard for hire?” Emir continued wanting to dismiss the subject immediately. He didn’t want to continue a subject like this without some alcohol in his system.

Hide watched him, his expression change. Was he offended? A faint grin curled the corners of his lips, secretly amused by it, and when the pinkette exclaimed at him he had to force himself not to smile. Hide reached out to his burger, going back to chewing so it would help prevent him from laughing at him for getting so worked up. He was just going off of stereotypes here, but Emir didn't seem like the partying kind of model.
He didn't do drugs, didn't drink as often, and he ate junk food. It was almost disappointing that Emir was pretty much a normal person like everyone else, but if he didn't go to parties and cause trouble it would in fact be easier to keep track of him. Less having to follow him around in places he'd rather not be, so he didn't care.
When he'd said an accountant, Hide's eyes flitted up to look at him, admittedly shocked. Huh? A pencil pusher...seriously? He waited for Emir to explain, still eating all the while. Was he educated? Was he a math nerd? Well, that was a bit of a shock. It was like finding out that the stripper was going to school to become an astronaut. Not that there was anything wrong with strippers going to school or astronauts, but I mean there definitely wasn't a parallel between such professions.
However, it didn't appear that Emir liked the prospect very much. He was avoiding eye contact, and fidgeting. If he was going to school, Hide didn't understand why he wasn't trying to earn a degree in something he might want to do if this modelling thing didn't work out. But it wasn't his business.
Noticing that Emir wanted to quickly sweep the subject under the rug, he leaned back and ran the back of his hand across his mouth after finished his second burger. He smirked at the description of his job here, as if this was something ordinary to him. Body guard for hire. Funny though. "I have a few jobs already. At night, mostly on the weekends, I work as a host and an escort at the clubs and bars downtown. It doesn't pay much, but I get free drinks usually."
He wasn't ashamed to admit that he was essentially a glorified prostitute. Sex wasn't always apart of a deal, but honestly it was usually implied. It was his job to make sure people that had a good time, and so he did. "I'm not usually a 'body guard'." He grinned, "People pay me to send 'messages' to those that they feel need a push. Whatever their reasons are I don't generally ask. I guess I am a hitman, just with less killing. That'd cost extra."

He really didn’t know much at all. That was evident as he watched Hide process his words with a look of amusement. He came across as anything but normal to be honest, but that made it more interesting. He would be lying if he said he expected Hide to dabble in that kind of work, but didn’t seem to bothered at the fact. Who was he to judge anyway? He posed with half naked people for a living. His job was to create a fantasy where everything seemed great as long as he wore a specific brand of clothing. Way better than accounting. Way better. Still he also wasn’t sure about how to react to the revelation either. Emir started by making eye contact once again. Now that he was no longer the focus of the conversation.
He hadn’t ever really met an escort before though. The pinkette picked his words with care not wanting to annoy the other man. He smiled, an attempt at sincerity. “A job you get to drink in? Sounds like it has good perks.” He stated. The more the black elaborated the more he realized he didn’t have a clue as to what kind of person he had just hired and had invited to eat dinner with him. The thought was unnerving, if only because he was just ignorant of the choices he had made. The model pushed the thought away now that he could no longer walk away. He was going to stick to this and get to know this strange man. “Booze and fighting huh…? What a fun and exciting life you lead.” Emir added. Committing act of violence for a living? No thanks. But he was sure there were many others like Hide who adored the idea. The thought of Hide murdering someone made him go pale. He didn’t like thinking about murder. He was a peaceful, nonviolent kind of guy after all.
“Pretty strong and mixed resume with a lot of titles. Must be touch making business cards huh?” Emir said with a small chuckle at the thought of Hide trying to market himself like a regular person. With that he stood up picking up his plate and empty soda can before moving into the kitchen. He pulled out some plastic wrap, enveloping whatever bit of burger he had left for tomorrow before dropping off the plate in the sink and throwing out the can. He yawned quietly before asking loudly, “Want me to wrap you some burgers for the road?” He had fun chatting and getting to know Hide but he was not, and he repeated to himself firmly and very sternly, he was not allowing the guy to sleep over. His exhaustion was starting to get the better of him and he didn’t want to fall asleep while in the middle of a conversation.

He couldn't deny that his job, jobs, had their up sides, but what job didn't have at least one benefit? He did enjoy the parties, the drinks and meals on occasion, but it wasn't his ideal choice. If he had a choice he probably wouldn't work at all. The few hobbies he had, like fighting for instance, he didn't think could earn him much money - not more than he was making now anyway.
"It does I suppose." Hide shrugged, ruffling his now damp hair as he watched Emir. He seemed a little unnerved talking about this. It was probably just the fighting bit, and for that he could understand. It wasn't everyones cup of tea. However, it wasn't as exciting to him as it might seem. Hide was decentralized to it.
A small chuckle escaped him at the mention of a business card. He didn't have that kind of job, but the thought was kind of funny. "I only have a small set of skills, but I'm good at what I do. Fighting relieves my stress." That was good for Emir, since it was what he was hired for, keeping him safe and fighting off the twats that tried to do what he almost did.
As Emir stood Hide watched him pick up his plate and empty can, and only when the man was away from the table did he get up as well. "I'm good. It's not necessary." His jaw lowering, unable to prevent a yawn, as he walked into the man's living room. His hair wasn't completely dry, but it was good enough. He was exhausted. Hide crawled onto the couch, and plopped down onto the cushions, burying his face against the back of it before he yawned again.

He didn’t have the energy to do the dishes and simply washed his hands leaving the sink be. He could do that some other time and it wasn’t like the damn thing was overflowing with plates and pots to wash. He held back a laugh as the man continued talking. Hide didn’t seem like the type to stress too much. Everything he did sounded like something he enjoyed but he kept this to himself. “Fighting’s good exercise too I suppose.” Emir commented. Mainly he was thinking about the other chasing people down. Now that was a scary thought.
“If you say so.” He then began picking up the dinner, taking the buns and the plate of burgers back to the kitchen to store them in the fridge for tomorrow’s lunch. The pinkette sloppily covered the burger plate with plastic wrap before shoving it in the fridge and left the buns on the counter. The longer he went the less he realized he cared much for how orderly it looked. Now to get rid of his guest, as grateful as he was for not killing him. He threw one last glance at the dinner table making sure nothing was left before realizing not Hide was not seated there. He had a moment of panic wondering where the black had run off to but it ended fast enough.
The model swallowed, seeing Hide form on the couch and willing his heart rate to slow down once more. He approached quietly molding his words the nicest way possible. While the man may have been avoiding the subject in hopes he would forget, Emir was going to put his foot down on this one. Tonight. Tonight he would not be having a sleepover. His couch nor his bed nor his home would be used for sleeping. The only person staying the night was the person that owned rent. He steeled himself for an argument, mentally prepping himself for the conflict. “Its last call Hideo you have to go home now.” He stated immediately wanting to punch himself afterwards. That had sounded so- so dumb! He didn’t want to be rude but he didn’t want to sound like a whining child, as much as he already had. “You’re not staying over tonight.” The pinkette repeated, voice firm as he eyed the man on his couch.
He refused to let himself pity him. It was only for one night. Not that he would let it become a habit. No, no, no. This would not do. He was leaving tonight. And Emir would make sure of it.

Hide could hear Emir moving around in the kitchen from the living room, it was a nice sort of background noise, comforting. It made him recall all the times his friend did things like make dinner for him when he visited, or unpleasantly..when his mother did the dishes and sang.
He was drifting. From the food, and alcohol alone he was sleepy and content. All the fighting helped to tire him out, but all in all today was just a mess. He didn't even want to think about getting up to have to walk from here to the station, only to find that the next one wouldn't come for an hour or more.
"Mm." He mumbled, hearing the sound of the pinkette's voice closer to him this time. He didn't open his eyes, but he listened -kind of. However, he disagreed with his proposition. He wasn't getting up, and Hide was stubborn, very very stubborn. Ohohoo, but Emir sounded all firm all of a sudden. It was funny.
He opened an eye, peeking up at the pink haired model before shutting it once more. "Is that an order?" Hide thought he said HE was the boss, not the other way around.

| the coals are beginning to glow when it's all said and done, we'll shine like the sun
This wouldn’t do. This wouldn’t do at all! Hide wasn’t moving at all. He hadn’t gotten up or anything he was just lying there! Like a huge lump! No! That wasn’t what was supposed to happen. Emir scowled at the man almost snapping back a response. He held himself back, rubbing his eyes for a few moments and trying to keep calm. Getting angry wouldn’t help move Hide from his apartment. “It’s not an order. It’s a fact.” The pinkette replied coolly, crossing his arms as he stood his ground on the matter.
“You can’t stay the night and you are going home.” The model continued, voice drifting up a few more levels. He wouldn’t just let the guy fall asleep on his couch. He was going to put up a fight and he was going to make him leave. And if he passed out he would drag his dead weight and dump him in the hallway. Let the neighbors deal with him. Hide was overstaying his welcome and he didn’t appreciate it one bit. Late as it was he wasn’t about to budge. To make this clear he got closer, looming over the man as he hide his face in the cushions.
“Don’t even try to feed me a line about how exhausted you are because so am I.” He stated, staring down at his unwanted guest. A man’s home was his castle and he would not allow intruders in it. Regardless of the fact that Hide had flawlessly managed to enter while he wasn’t away. Whatever. That had been the first time since ever? What were the odds of someone breaking and entering a second time? Nonexistent. “Wouldn’t you prefer laying in your own bed anyway?” he asked loudly, throwing a glance in the direction of his own room. He was going to fall like a stack of bricks the minute Hide left. At least, hopefully he left.
“Are you even listening to me?!” Emir snapped although it sounded more like another one of his whines. As he did, he took a seat on the man’s back and trying to poke at his face.
