| the coals are beginning to glow when it's all said and done, we'll shine like the sun
Emir sighed tiredly as he approached his apartment door. He’d been paranoid on his mad dash home. He had taken the most convoluted route home heading into downtown and back. Weaving in and out of stores and alleys. He’d even bought himself a hoodie and snap back to hide his hair and face. Emir had kept his head low and his mouth shut. He’d been shaking so hard. He didn’t remember the last time he had ran so hard than he did that evening. He didn’t know if he had been chased or not he just focused on putting distance between himself and the black hit man. His body hurt, he probably smelled bad, and he was sure his face was all kinds of fucked up.
The model pulled out his keys finally feeling comfortable now that he was home. Thank God. All he wanted to do was shower and sleep. He’d skip school tomorrow and try to fix his face. The less questions asked the better. “I’m not even going to bother with the spreadsheets today. I can email that in tomorrow.” He muttered vaguely remembering the homework he had intended to finish that night. He swung the door wide open, dropping a shopping bag with the clothes he’d been wearing. He kicked it over, tossing his cover with it and pulling off the new hoodie. The pinkette moved forward and with practiced precision flicked on the lights while pushing the door closed with his foot. Emir squinted, roughly tugging off the sweatshirt and dropping it to the ground ready to groom himself.
He dropped his keys and kicked off his shoes while locking the door before making his way to the kitchen. A shiver went through him as he walked on the tile before pulling open the fridge. He stared for a moment, furrowing his eyebrows noting he was running low on milk and OJ. “Water it is then.” He muttered reaching in to take out a chilled bottle.

His employer wasn't satisfied. He'd been paid briefly before the exchange with Emir, however, after their confrontation the person who'd been placing money into his account hadn't paid him for 'finishing' his task. He had predicted this, but the person said he couldn't kill him. Hideo didn't like being creative on the fly, and having restrictions just made his actions forced.
Though he had no real complaints when money was involved. It just meant he had to go back to the drawing board. After procuring more information on Emir Kouri, Hide prepared for their next interaction with a beer and music. With no choice but to skip dinner for the second time this weak, he gathered his things and headed on the train.
After slipping into Emir's place without a hitch, his expertise at lock picking put to the test, Hide walked around casually. Boy would he sell his soul to live in as nice a place as this, and of course right away he'd went straight for the kitchen. Of course, there was food, so much of it in comparison to his barren ice box.
He'd sighed, staring at the contents for what felt like forever until he heard someone at the door.
Turning his gaze in the direction of it for a moment, he shut the door and went to hide somewhere he wouldn't be seen. Silent, patient, he listened as the pink haired man's voice entered his ears. Thankful he hadn't brought company with him, and as the door locked he grinned ever so slightly. He might enjoy this more than the first time. After seeing all of what Emir had it was a sort of justice.
Slowly, after hearing the fridge open, Hide stepped out from the living room, walking to the kitchen. With Emir's back to him it made this easy. This time, he'd actually finish the damn job.
Once close enough Hide reached out for him, wrapping his arm around the man neck to place him in a choke hold, pulling back hard enough to apply pressure to the man's throat. | ◀ MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS |

| the coals are beginning to glow when it's all said and done, we'll shine like the sun
He had severely underestimated the man. After all, he had thought he had lost him hours ago after the mad dash he’d made. Hell he even bought a disguise. Emir had been so sure he was safe in his own home he hadn’t even bothered to consider the stalker might know where he lived. He didn’t even get to open his water before being grabbed and immediately starting to suffocate. At this point who else could it really be? Some OTHER stalker watching him go about his daily life? He grimaced catching the smell of alcohol on his breath. The observation didn’t really calm him down. In fact his heart rate only shot up even more.
“You are a stalker!” he choked out, pushing back on the man in an attempt to be released. “Get off and get out!” the pinkette coughed. He gripped the arm that was choking him with his own before moving his face down and trying to take a bit out of Hide’s forearm. All he had wanted was some water and a nap and he couldn’t even have that! Hadn’t he been slapped around enough for today?! He was scared and also a bit indignant at the balls this guy had. To pull this stunt on him in his own HOME? Thank you. Now he would never be able to rest easy again. The model’s breathing started hitching and he struggled even more attempting to writhe his way out of the man’s grasp and back towards the front door. If he could get out into the hallway, he could phone the police and let them sort this whole thing out.

There he went with that stalked bullshit again, making Hide tense. He wasn't a damn stalker, but he had to let this man believe whatever the fuck he wanted to believe. He couldn't very well just tell him who he was, why he was here. Those weren't his instructions, and even if they had been Hideo would never willingly give up his personal information unless there was some sort of appeal to him.
There was none here.
He didn't say anything, feeling no need to, as the man struggled and writhed in his grasp. All the moving about did cause him to stumble back however, surprised that Mr. Kouri was finally starting to fight back. Though it was more of a struggle, and attempt to break free, and dammit Hide couldn't wait till he passed the fuck out so he could just fuck up his face a little, and maybe break something and just leave.
"Ku- Ah!" The raven haired man hissed, growling as he felt teeth in his arm. Fucking bastard. It allowed his victim to weasle his way out of his hold, throwing Hide further off balance as he took another couple steps back. Though once he looked up to see the pink haired man start to run toward the hall he swore under his breath and took off after him.
If he escaped, and made noise, people would definitely hear him this time. The cops would be called, whether it was Emir doing the calling or not, and he'd be fuckin screwed. So Hide was sure to make his actions as swift as he was able, but being under the influence didn't help his case.
He had to use counter surfaces, and the side of walls to keep his balance, but before Emir could get to the door he grabbed him by the shoulder and forced him against a wall. A hand reaching to grab his throat, the other dug into his pocket and pulled out the knife he'd used for a quick go to. He didn't often prefer the use of weapons, but he was getting real tired of this shit. | ◀ MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS |

| the coals are beginning to glow when it's all said and done, we'll shine like the sun
Once he felt skin, the model had made sure to bite down as hard as he could. He dug in without worrying about how dirty or gross Hide was instead only focusing on causing him pain and attempting to payback even a sliver of the harm he’d done to Emir. The pinkette gasped, his breathing hard as he sucked in much needed oxygen before grinning broadly at the damage. This time he didn’t hesitate and darted to the door trying not to trip over himself. “Serves you right, jack ass.” He taunted as he left not even bothering to throw Hide a parting glance.
No he was so close to freedom now. He knew he could out run him, he had already proven that. All he needed was the hallway and it’d be a short trip out to the street. He shoved a hand in pocket already reaching for his cell phone as he neared the door, not paying attention to the drunken hit man behind him. He could not wait to see Hide slammed on a cop car. He made a note to snap a picture of the scene and also to invest in a home security system, in case he came back. These thoughts were cut short though. Just before unlocking the entrance, his body was slammed into the wall causing him momentary confusion. Had he tripped? He was sure to have kicked away his clothes to the side of the door.
The grip on his neck clarified everything and he threw back and elbow at the man, growling in frustration once more. Obviously, he wasn’t drunk enough in Emir’s humble opinion. “Back off!” he ordered attempting to look back at his assaulter. He managed a peek, as he grabbed Hide’s choking hand and immediately felt a lot more scared than angry. The chances of dying had dramatically increased now. He had spotted the knife Hide had used before at the bus stop. The sudden realization had not improved his breathing as he only became more agitated at the situation. Emir writhed again, ignoring his pocketed cell phone and focusing on the door, desperate to put distance between him and Hide. Also he wanted to be able to breathe easily again.

He'd never met someone antsy to get away from him. Not even his targets thus far had been this damn jumpy. He was frustrating, he was pissed off, and with the alcohol in his system Hide was less inclined to tolerate this crap any longer. The rules be damned.
Breath slightly labored, not just from the struggle. Hide tightened his grasp on the man's throat as he pinned him there. The blade he had safe in his pocket flicked open with a quick motion of his wrist. "I'm sick of this shit!" He growled, no longer caring about the consequences of his actions, any of his actions.
"Give me a reason why I shouldn't kill you right now." Words slightly slurred from the alcohol and his unbridled rage, Hide looked Emir in the eyes and dared him to give him a legitimate reason to not break his own rules. Rich boy, with a decent place to live, the comfort of food in his fridge, and so irresponsible as to not have a security system to protect all of this.
Emir practically deserved what he got.
Hide set the tip of the blade over the man's stomach, slowly digging it into his flesh as he waited impatiently. | ◀ MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS |

| the coals are beginning to glow when it's all said and done, we'll shine like the sun
An armed man under the influence definitely something he never wanted to experience ever again. He was even more irritable than the last time they had met. Emir squirmed, feeling his grip tighten and let out a few weak coughs. He scowled at Hide before managing to hack out, “That makes t-two of us.” He shivered, now more anxious than before having heard the blade flick open. He flinched hearing for the first time an actual death threat come out of the intoxication man’s mouth. The model braced himself, locking eyes with the man wondering if he was actually serious or if an answer would be enough for him to push the knife into his gut.
Emir wracked his brain for an answer that would appease the man that had pinned him in his own home. He had stalked him, tracked him, and even broken into his own home. All of this effort for some shady deal? Why hadn’t he just waited for tomorrow to attack him once more? Twice in one day was just too much effort. “That- That deal…!” he began glaring at Hide. “There’s no way….you’re getting paid enough to kill me.” He said wincing as he felt the cold blade cut into his flesh with ease. He sucked in his stomach a weak smirk suddenly appearing on his features. “You’re getting ripped off anyway…I only make enemies with cheapskates.” He added, nervously hoping the man would believe him. Truth be told he honestly had no idea who could’ve had the gall to put out a hit on him. “What’re the chances that hey kill you...and take back their money?” he added weakly.
“You’ll get caught anyway.” He muttered through labored breathing.

Hide narrowed his eyes as Emir struggled to string together a reply. It was good that he looked like he was trying so hard, but at the same time Hideo when drunk - just regularly- had very little patience. Wondering if the guy was going to start to cry again, he scowled as the man stammered while beginning.
Deal? He couldn't remember if he'd mentioned it before, but it wouldn't be the first time he made a slip up - like letting this pinkette escape him the first time. Though he raised a brow, intrigued, as Emir went on. He had it all wrong. He wasn't sent here to 'kill' him necessarily, but since this was supposedly going somewhere that meant profit for him he didn't correct the man.
The thought of getting ripped off had never crossed his mind. He hardly got paid much on a regular day, and any money was a significant thing to him. He'd never turn down the chance to make more. Hide thought, with great doubt, that maybe that was what Emir was beginning to suggest.
"Tch, no one can kill me." Hideo had plenty of enemies that might have it out for him sure, but unlike Emir he had safe guards put in place in case such things happened. Sort of like an emergency plan, in case your house caught fire or there was an earthquake. Except that particular emergency was labeled 'in case of attempted murder on my life'.
That being said, he'd never been caught either. So two down. Was that all? "I've never been caught, nor will I. What's it to you anyway? You think you have more money?" | ◀ MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS |

| the coals are beginning to glow when it's all said and done, we'll shine like the sun
Shit! Shit, shit, shit! The man was too drunk for reason! He couldn’t reason with a drunk. No one could! At least, he didn’t recall a time he’d had to. Except now, when his life as hanging in the balance. The man’s confidence was overwhelming and it was throwing a wrench into his bullshitting abilities. He highly doubted that he couldn’t be killed if all he carried around was a knife in his back pocket. He felt it as best to not mention that however. It was probably better if he could keep the guy talking. Maybe he’d fall asleep if Emir talked enough. /I’m losing it for fuck’s sake…/ he thought, eyes staring around the room for some sort of brilliant idea.
What options did he have anyway?! It wasn’t like it was easy to come up with something when you could literally feel a knife just a few inches away from puncturing your gut. He looked back at Hide, annoyed at his cockiness. Why couldn’t he just buy the damn excuses? At least a little slack would’ve been nice the one time it actually mattered in his life. “I couldn’t care less one way of the other to be frank.” He snapped. “Not my business.” The model continued, allowing his mouth to move despite his better judgment. “Of course I have more fucking money. It’s not like I have bills to pay on a fucking mansion.” He added. That was a lie. He was a goddamn college student spending his every waking moment doing shoots and doing homework. Most of his cash went into tuition. At least, he did his best to. Emir was human after all. He liked nice clothes and good food every once in a while.
This was going nowhere fast but self-preservation was making the big decisions now. He could get more money right? Drop back to the minimum payments on bills. Take meat out of his diets. Shit, he could just drink water from the tap if he was thirsty. “I’m fucking frugal. The guy paying is probably broke and drowning in some bathtub of liquor. Chump change is what they fucking paid you, impressive resume or not.” The pinkette went only letting out a harsh laugh at the end. There were some greedy bastards out there, and if they had put out a hit on him then he knew it was true.

His eyes set, unamused. Couldn't care less huh? Now even his sympathies were wearing thin. Hide glared, unamused, as he pressed the knife harder against the man's midsection just slightly. The presence of the blade likely cutting him slightly but he wasn't looking.
Money was something at least. He could work with the proposition of more money. However, if he was going to cancel his deal with his former employer it could be a problem for him later. If the man decided to turn him into the police, or send someone else to take care of Hide or even Emir. At that the faintest grin formed in his features.
Jackpot.
"How about this then." Frugal or not, this guy was going to fuckin owe him. "The person that contacted me, obviously he had it out for you. You mentioned having enemies yes? If you have some that are willing to hire a guy like me to fuck you over what makes you think something like this wouldn't happen again?" Hideo paused to let that sink in, his grin mischievous in nature, and perhaps untrustworthy but his only thought was on the money.
"If the person that hired me sends someone to fuck me over too I'll essentially be putting myself on the line, got it? So I'll need to get paid, but in return I'll help keep your pathetic ass from getting killed." With that he scoffed and released Emir from his hold, taking a step back to give the man a little room.

| the coals are beginning to glow when it's all said and done, we'll shine like the sun
Emir paled as he felt the faintest movement on his torso before something sticky began slowly rolling down. The cut was getting deeper, a cold reminder of what was in store for him if he didn’t play his cards right. He grimaced detecting a slight change in the tension around them. Maybe he had finally annoyed the hit man enough to justify killing him. He opened his mouth as the question before closing it. The answer wasn’t a good one. He was just a model after all. With no abilities in anything except running, he was a sitting duck. Especially if another Hide showed up. His stomach dropped at the thought of having a confrontation with a man like Hide or even worse. It didn’t sound like a fun time.
Maybe he could’ve gotten himself help if he knew who was putting out the hits on him but there was no ways he would be able to track down every single person he had offended that could AFFORD a hit man. The whole situation made him feel weak. He didn’t interrupt letting the man continue his sales pitch. He coughed, gasping for air as Hide’s grip on his throat slackened. He leaned on the door, squinting as he processed the stranger’s words. He didn’t have to look at Hide to realize how cornered he was, even if the threat of being stabbed to death no longer lingered. Emir was quiet concentrating more on slowly down his spastic breathing than thinking of something clever to say.
The pinkette’s face scrunched up into a scowl unsure of what other options he really had. If he refused Hide would finish him off now. If he accepted…he was probably promising a lot of money to the man that had threatened to kill him. Emir ran a hand over his neck already scared of the damage he’d see in the mirror. He clenched his fists, irritated at how easy the whole process had been. He really could’ve died that night. There was probably still a chance of death actually, since the man was still around. His shoulders slumped in defeat. It wasn’t like he could counter anyway. “Fine, what are your terms?” He grumbled bitterly, too weak to even look him the eyes.
“And your name while you’re at it.”

Hide was quite confident that the man would agree. What choice did he have? If he refused, Hideo could just leave, but that didn't mean he would be safe. If he lied to his employer, said that he'd tried but come up short, that same person could hire someone else. More determined, more blood thirsty and less interested in giving Emir a chance to actually fight back.
Yes, he justified that he'd been going soft on the guy. At his worst Emir would have already been dead by now. He shoved his free hand in the pocket of his jeans, lopsided grin in tow, and when the pink haired male finally answered he was satisfied. "Araia, Hideo." The man nodded, straightening himself before going on, "19,000 yen a week."
It would be enough to keep himself fed at least, with a little extra to spare at the bar. His wages just barely covered rent and other bills, it was a damn sweet deal considering he was risking his life for this asshole.
His eyes trailed to Emir's stomach, only just then noticing the trickling red that was trailing down his abs. Oops. He must have pressed too hard. "Ah, you're bleeding." He said simply as if he were pointing out something trivial, like it was just starting to rain. Hide lifted the knife in his hand, realizing the tip was spattered with a bit of blood and frowned slightly. Well, shit.
He closed the knife and tucked it in his pocket, cracking his knuckles as he nodded at Emir. "You got any old hand towels, and some duck tape?" | ◀ MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS |

Emir hoped he didn’t look too sour not as happy about the whole situation as Hide. But the man did make a good case and Emir would rather not have another crazy night like this. He swallowed, quietly saying good bye to a good chunk of his salary but relieved that he could pay it. He was getting steady work he could pay it. He’d have to set aside money from paychecks just to be sure he had enough every week but affordable. The pinkette couldn’t believe he was actually rationalizing this financial decision but hell, he sure liked being alive. “Wonderful introduction.” The model replied. Who would’ve thought he would’ve hired the guy that had tried beating the crap out of him in an alleyway? “That’s fine.” He added, agreeing to pay.
He managed an insincere smile at the man. “It's ok, doesn't hurt as much as my face.” Emir tugged at his shirt, peeling away the fabric from the wound. Didn’t feel too bad. Emir looked away from the blade, still a bit uncomfortable with it after having had it pointed at his vital organs a few minutes ago. He frowned, not exactly sure what the man was getting at. In fact, somewhere along the lines he should’ve questions how trustworthy the man before him was. After all the things he’d done today, and that was just TODAY.
Emir didn’t voice his concerns however. Regardless, he still had the same chances of living and he rather liked not being an anxious wreck. “Yeah sure.” The man made his way towards a small door before sliding it open. Bed sheets, a comforter and a bunch of colored towels had been shoved in and were so tightly packed the whole thing stayed put when he opened the door. He shoved his hand into a shelf vaguely recalling where he had a hand towel. He had at least two. After a moment of rummaging he snagged ne and gently pulled it out before quickly closing the closet. “Here you go.” Emir said, tossing the man the towel before checking underneath the kitchen sink. What do you know? An opened three pack. He wondered where he’d put the first roll before shaking his head and grabbing a roll. “Still got some left from moving day.” He continued, mostly to himself before tossing over the roll as well.

Well...that didn't take much convincing. Hide rubbed the back of his neck, disappointed that he hadn't given a higher wage if he was going to get away with it so easily. How wealthy was this guy? The thought made the raven haired man scowl. He really didn't like rich people, but after the damage to Emir's face he did feel a little better about their new partnership. He'd gotten to let out some steam on his face at least, and to that he couldn't resist a small smirk.
"You'll live." He replied, watching Emir tug at his shirt before he took another step back and waited for him to be guided around. Alas his main point of interest was the kitchen, mostly out of habit. He was starving, needed a shower, and Hide justified to himself already that he might as well stay the night. How Emir might feel about that, he didn't really care.
While Hide followed behind he was reminded just how much stuff Emir had that he didn't - like a closet of clean towels that weren't permanently blood stained.
"You just moved here?" As he inquired, Hide walked passed Emir and headed toward the kitchen. He was hungry, and had little qualms about making himself comfortable in someone else's space. "I'll need a key." The thought of having to break in each time just wasn't appealing, and he could justify his reasons for visiting to raid Emir's fridge. Intruders. He'd be doing him a solid by getting here first, just to make sure the place was 'safe'.
As he opened the door to the fridge and bent over to glance over its contents as he'd done before he called out to Emir in the hallway. "Also, perhaps buying a security system for when I can't check up on the place would probably be a good idea." Did he have no street skills at all? Hide pulled out a container of strawberries from one of the shelves, setting it on the container beside the fridge. Disappointed with the lack of instant meals he shut the ice box and just started eating from the container of strawberries while he waited for Emir to catch up.

| the coals are beginning to glow when it's all said and done, we'll shine like the sun
Emir didn’t look Hide in the eye not wanting to laugh at the expression he was making. If he had tried haggling he might’ve ended up with the man walking out. Besides, when it came down to it Hide was like an expensive car payment to him. He would much rather walk but he hated public transportation. He touched his face, poking at the tenderness and grimacing at the pain. The man took too much delight in his suffering. He nodded awkwardly. “I got tired of living with roommates. It’s smaller but my neighbors are mostly old people so it’s quieter.” Emir made a face as he recalled the two other people that had once been his flat mates. He did not miss it.
He laughed at Hide not entirely sure how comfortable he was with handing off his extra key to a man he’d met today. “I’ll get a copy made tomorrow.” The pinkette lied. He needed at least a night to himself to process the decision he’d made tonight. “Noted. Anti-burglar and fire alarm.” Emir replied wondering if he could just walk into Sears and purchase a system. He supposed his parents probably new a god company. Emir eyed Hide wondering if what had really saved him was the man’s cravings. “Probably not. Should be leftovers to heat up though.” The man replied. He wondered if he actually had anything prepare for dinner. Eating out been a bit of an impulse buy.
Oh. Wait. The man was hungry. He didn’t really care about the strawberries but he might continue snacking for how knows how long. Emir had a few things he would rather save. “Do you…want burgers?” he asked unsure of how to broach the subject. “It’ll take a bit longer than ramen but I guess it’s more filling?” He was sure there was probably some ground beef in the sink he’d left out before he left for school. Frying up a couple and sending the man on his way would probably only take around 10 minutes.
